Welcome to Pennell's Corner
The month of March began with Read Across America and days filled with wonderful guest readers. Over the next weeks we will be graphing the wind and engaging in various windy weather activities. We will also be learning about all the changes that come with the season of Spring.
Ideas For Home
- Continue reading daily with your child. Some seasonal titles include: "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Clover" by, Lucille Colandro; "The Night Before St. Patrick's Day" by, Amy Wummer and "The Wind Blew In" by, Pat Hutchins
- Hide paper gold pieces with letters or numbers written on them all around the house. Have your child pretend to be a leprechaun and go hunting for gold. He or she needs to identify all the letters or numbers found.
- Make rainbows with Fruit Loop cereal.
- Graph the wind for a week. Discuss the changes each day.
