School Board Candidacy and Voter Information
On Tuesday, January 17, Governor Christie signed into law PL 2022, Chapter 202 which established procedures for moving the date of the school district’s Annual School Election from April to the General Election in November.
At the regular meeting held on January 19, the Board adopted a resolution to move the date of the annual election to November. What this means is that our school district budget vote will be eliminated and must remain within the statutory limit of 2% tax cap levy. It also means that Board of Education members whose terms would have expired by May 2012, will continue to serve in office until January 2013. The annual election date for school board members is moved from the third Tuesday in April to the November General Elections. The annual Reorganization meeting will occur in January 2013.
